Regional Press
By regional press is meant the local press published in the various
regions of the country. Regional press in Tunisia is diverse. It
includes private and public print and audiovisual media. This
particular type of media receives public assistance in such matters as
printing and newspaper publishing.
Partial list of regional media

Regional print media
- « Chams Al-Janoub ». Its first issue was published in January
1975. Though originally geared towards readers in the Sfax region, this
newspaper eventually attracted an audience in most of the governorates
of the South, and other regions.
- « Le Canal », published in
Bizerte (North East). Its first issue came out on Octobre 15, 1967.
Despite its regional character, « Le Canal » has managed, thanks to its
varied and rich content, and the use of modern printing techniques, to
attract audiences in other regions, including the capital.
- «
Miraat Al-Wassat » launched 24 years ago in Sidi Bouzid, In addition to
the regional content, this magazine includes poetry and arts criticism,
reflecting the rich cultural life of the region.
