Private baths
Kerkouane is noted for its lack of public baths. Just like it is with
the modern world, baths were private and part of a family's house.
There are several really nice examples to this, with bathtubs often made by a red or pink plaster or a sort of cement.
Museum and the wooden coffin
The museum of Kerkouane has a small collection of nice and interesting
items. There is really just one superb item, a Punic wooden coffin
found in the necropolis in the hills 500 metres in from the coast. It
is sometimes called Lady of Kerkouane, having the face of the goddess
Ashtart carved into it. Ashtart was the protector of the dead. This
coffin is the only of its kind. Other interesting objects include vases and jewellery.

expensive. Otherwise, spend your night in Kelibia (best) or El Haouaria. Both are about 20 km away, but in different directions.
RESTAURANTS AND ALTERNATIVES
Food at the hotel, or go to Kelibia or El Houaria.
CHANGE MONEY
Nothing. Go to Kelibia or El Houaria.

There are no form of public transport coming out here. Your best bet is
hitching with with other travellers going out here, or rent a taxi for
the trip. All of this is best arranged in Kelibia.
