Inside the houses

Some of the most impressive buildings of Douiret are since long
abandoned. They can rise 3 to 4 storeys high. Styles are simple but
workmanship are of fine quality.
Should
you be so lucky, one of the remaining families may allow you to look
into their home. This is a gesture that should be tipped. Around the
village, there are also some oil presses, of which 3 are still in use.
Also, look out for bakeries, which no longer are in use.
The Kalaat

Climbing up the mountain behind the village, allows you a spectacular view of the kalaat.
Practicalities

HOTELS AND ALTERNATIVES
Nothing. Spend the night in Tataouine.
RESTAURANTS AND ALTERNATIVES
Nothing. Eat in Tataouine or Chenini if this is part of your itinerary.
CHANGE MONEY
Nothing. This you should do in Tataouine, where there are plenty of banks.
TRANSPORT
No public transportation. Contrary to Chenini, you should not rely on
hitching out here, as there are far less cars going out to Douiret.
Many
travellers who visit Douiret without being part of an organized trip,
rent a taxi for the return trip in Tataouine. Then they also visit
nearby destinations like Chenini and Guermessa.
